Faces of the 2015 ANUCC Committee: Let’s finish with a bang. Simon Lasscock – show me the money! Whilst he does not spend much time on two wheels, Simon ‘I run a negative split’ Lasscock spends many-an-hour putting foot to pavement. When he’s not smashing out a new PB on a morning/lunchtime/afternoon/weekday/weekend/late night run, he’s keeping the club’s finances in tip top shape as Treasure.
Adam Wozniak – literary genius!
When he’s not trying to discover how to stiffen his bike using electrospun core-shell nanofibers so he can put more power through his cranks, ‘quadzilla’ can be found splitting his time between his two passions: dirt and road. This amigo is always keen to take a bunch for MTB madness or Sunday road ride. Not only does this kid love a lead out, he is also half the wordsmith behind the ANUCC newsletters (along with Danny Chak).
ANUCC AGM – Farewell to the Old and in with the New!
When: Tuesday 19 January at 6pm
Where:The RUC, Turner
The AGM will be a chance for you to be apart of the fun and awesomeness that is ANUCC. All roles are open and committee members new and old are encouraged to apply for positions they are interested in! As a club which looks after its riders first, we immensely value the input of our members. By being on the ANUCC committee, you can directly influence, shape and influence the direction of the club and how it may better benefit its members.
We are calling for nominations for all committee positions:
•Club Handicapper and two committee members for 2016.
Alas, not all of our 2015 committee members will be reapplying for their positions. Our President, Tim “TSG Wattbombs” will not be running for 2016 president. We thank Tim for all that he has done this past year and then some! For as along as I can remember, Tim has been the face of ANUCC, and his curly locks will surly be missed. Although personally, I reckon he might spontaneously show up at Sunday bunches to show us young fellas how its done ;)

Christmas Ride Report
Great turnout on a warm and crisp Sunday morning, even Santa took some time off this Christmas schedule for a hit out! As soon as we were on the highway, you could tell Santa was overdressed by his panting and second-wheeling antics. The temperature began to steadily rise and the kilometres began to melt away – pun intended. We even managed to snag a few of the track boys and girls for a whirlwind tour of Sutton and the Old Federal Highway. The group held a pace even Blitzen would be proud of.
ANUCC is always looking for ways to support and grow cycling in the Canberra community, particularly through events and activities that benefit our members. The committee has set aside money specifically for funding development opportunities in the fields of road, mountain bike and track cycling. Members are encouraged to submit funding proposals to the committee for the 2015 calendar year. Proposals should include information on who will benefit and how they will benefit from the funding. Additionally, a costing should be provided along with a contact person. Proposals that provide opportunities for ANU students may receive higher funding. All proposals should be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions about the process or funding in general, please contact Tim Sloan-Gardner (0438 881 143). In additional to funding development opportunities for members, the club may also provide individual financial assistance. The committee will consider providing financial assistance to any current club member participating in major national events and national or international representative duties. Further details and an application form can be found here.
